European aid and the making of Development Graveyards in the Global South

Talk by Billy Jones.

This talk explores the international development funding model from below. Building on ethnographic fieldwork in Northern Kenya, it traces ideas, technologies and donor money from the Global North - particularly Europe - as they make their way to Development sites in the Global South. It takes the case of externally-driven development projects in the pastoralist region of Baringo and critically examines their impact on livelihoods and landscapes.
