CSF Reading Group
The Centre for Sustainable Futures will host the next Sustainable Futures Reading Group on Thursday, 23 March from 13:00-15:00 in room 12.3.07, to discuss the first part of Cornelius Castoriadis’ book Imaginary Institution of Society (chapters 1-3). The book offers some genuinely dialectical reflexions on the intricate interrelations between material and ideational realities. We see it as relevant today for discussing the understandings of how sustainability and societal change is dealt with in current historical and sociological literature.
The second part (chapters 4-7) will be on the agenda in the last reading group meeting in this term, Thursday, 27 April (same time and venue), when associate professor Anders Michelsen from Department of Arts and Cultural Studies will also give a short introduction to the thoughts of Castoriadis.
