This workshop provided an overview of ethnographic research. It discussed the origins, underlying assumptions, principles and methodology of ethnographic research. Issues of validity and trustworthiness were discussed as was techniques and reserach instruments that are typically employed in ethnographic research. Analyzing ethnographic data and writing up ethnographic reserach was also discussed. Participants had the opportunity to plan and get feedback on a possible ethnographically oriented research project. The workshop was a mix of presenter input, discussion tasks and group/plenary discussions.
